Celebrating a new era of leadership at ThirdWay Interiors
Many assume that owning a business automatically turns you into a leader. You are, after all, heading up the business which means driving the company’s direction and making vital decisions, right?
The reality of leadership is far more complex; a wide range of skills, personal traits and years of expertise are needed to sail a ship successfully not to mention a revolutionary thought-process and the ability to be able to turn complicated ideas into something nothing short of genius.
At ThirdWay, we invest and encourage employee’s professional growth and development; we’re pro-active in promoting from within when the right time arises, meaning that most of our management team have climbed the ladder to their position, with the right training and support along the way.
“Everyone in the business has been encouraged to think and work like a leader”
Since day one, everyone in the business has been encouraged to think and work like a leader; a factor that’s contributed toward the phenomenal growth of the business and the multi-disciplinary group of specialists we are today.
As a result of this growth, opportunities have emerged within the management structure which allow additional, invaluable support to the team as well as the business in addition to a new driving force from within.
We now have two new Managing Directors, Rob Goulder (previously Design Director) and Trish Watson (previously Project Director) in addition to a new Group Business Development Director, Alex Chapman (formerly Project Director).
“My industry knowledge and experience is fed by a determination to fulfil the needs of my clients in an ever-changing workspace environment. In meeting their needs I have learnt how to bring together and get the best of the diverse talents required to complete a successful project. My new role at Thirdway is the most exciting challenge of my career and I'm looking forward to nurturing the undoubted talent of the team and to make a real difference.” - Trish Watson.
Rob Goulder commented: “I came into ThirdWay almost 6 years ago to manage the design team (of 4 at the time) and provide the steer that was needed for them to move forward and keep innovating. Now, we have a design team of 20 and I take great pride in pushing the whole business forward to be innovative in everything we do. I don’t see this as promotion, more a formalisation of a role I feel as an ambassador of ThirdWay I was proud to be already doing. I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings and I what we can achieve as a team.”
